چکیده
To investigate endocrine function changes after non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFPA) transsphenoidal surgery and to search for predictors of hypopituitarism resolution development. We included 117 patients with NFPA who underwent endoscopic from 2005 2019 by two neurosurgeons. Twenty-one were excluded because previous or radiotherapy. assessed symptoms at diagnosis, tumour volume, removal, hormonal status outcomes 2- 12-month follow-up, complications. Pituitary stalk gland MRI (visible not) included, it theirs association was studied the first time, our knowledge. visualization more frequent in those showed a smaller number axes affected 12 months (p = 0.011). no function. Assessment initial outcome regarding significant association. volumes GTR postoperative worsening, while younger its improvement.

Management of Pituitary Adenomas: Mononostril Endoscopic Transsphenoidal Surgery
Introduction: The endoscopic transsphenoidal approach for pituitary adenomas and other sellar lesions is quickly becoming the procedure of choice in their surgical management. The most common approach is binostril three-hand technique which requires a large exposure and subjects both nasal cavities to potential trauma. To reduce nasal morbidity, we employ a mononostril two-hand technique with t...

Background & Aim: We described the presentation, management and subsequent treatment outcomes of children and adolescents diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma in a joint neuroendocrine setting followed up by a single service as well as assessing long-term outcomes in terms of endocrine status and neurology symptoms. Methods & Materials/Patients: A total of 21 participants with histologically v...
متن کامل[Endoscopic transsphenoidal pituitary surgery].
Endoscopic surgery has been performed in our Department since 1996 as assistance in micro-neurosurgical procedures. In the same way the endoscope was used in transsphenoidal pituitary surgery, but from the beginning of 2004 we started with "pure" endoscopic surgery. We present our experience with the first ninety patients to demonstrate our way of operating. Endoscopic pituitary surgery is perf...
متن کاملEndoscopic Endonasal Transsphenoidal Approach for Pituitary Adenomas: a Prospective Review of Our Early Experience
Background & Aim: Pituitary adenomas are a part of a dissimilar group of benign neoplasms. The development of endoscopic techniques for surgery of paranasal sinuses has increased the opportunity for an endoscopic approach with regard to the pituitary gland. Minimally invasive endoscopic pituitary surgery, in turn, permits a more thorough tumor resection and fewer associated surgical complicatio...
